gHSQC and gHMBC

Heteronuclear Single   Q uantum C oherence (HSQC) and H eteronuclear M ultiple B ond C oherence (HMBC) are 2-dimensional inverse 1H-X correlation techniques that allow for the determination of carbon (or other heteroatom) to hydrogen connectivity. 1H,13C-HSQC is selective for direct 13C-1H coupling and HMBC will give longer range couplings (2-4 bond coupling). Our facility implements gradient-selected versions of both HSQC (gHSQCAD) and HMBC (gHMBCAD), which improves the acquired spectra by significantly reducing unwanted signal artifacts.
